Breakfast

After breakfast you leave Konavle and board the transfer bus to Gruz harbor to take a boat over to Lopud Island, a crossing of just under an hour. Today Lopud is a charming and relatively quiet place with good beaches and without cars or traffic, home to a permanent population of under 300 people. Previously, however, Lopud was a very important port, with great strategic significance - in the 1600s it is said to have had a population of 14,000 people, mostly involved in shipping. You will have time to walk around the island and enjoy its beaches before returning to Dubrovnik in the afternoon.

NOTE - If harsh weather makes it impossible for a passenger ferry to operate, there is no possibility to get to the island for today's hike. In that case, no refund of the ferry tickets occurs.

The hiking trail winds initially through vineyards, Mediterranean forests and olive groves before you follow the old road past magnificent summer residences from times past for the last stretch. In Sipanska Luka you can have lunch at one of the local taverns before returning to the harbor to take the boat home.

For departures in April, May and October you take an afternoon ferry and therefore do not have enough time to do this hike. You will then instead do the hike on day 6.

NOTE - If harsh weather makes it impossible for a passenger ferry to operate, you will instead travel between Pelješac and Mljet with a minibus and on the large car ferries that serve the mainland, which creates a longer travel day.
