On the first day of your trip, you will be picked up by our transfer bus at Split airport and driven to your selected accommodation. After checking in, you will receive all the information needed for the week (maps, instructions and tourist information). We then recommend an exploration of Split's fascinating old town, which is largely built in and around the Roman Emperor Diocletian's summer palace from the 3rd century. Here you'll find a maze of narrow alleys, cozy cafés and an enchanting atmosphere.

Breakfast
The day begins with a short walk to Split's harbor before taking the ferry (1 h) to Hvar, followed by a short transfer (30 min) to the village of Velo Grablje and the start of today's hike. From here you follow a mostly downhill trail, past olive groves and small villages with traditional Croatian architecture. You pass among others the partially abandoned Malo Grablje, once famous for its lavender. Then you reach Milna and continue along the trail that winds between Mediterranean pines and wild gardens all the way to Hvar. You spend the night at a hotel in Hvar's old town districts.
NOTE - If rough weather makes it impossible for a passenger ferry to operate, you will instead travel between Split and Hvar on the large car ferries to Stari Grad and then take a transfer to Hvar, which creates a longer travel day.

Breakfast
After breakfast you take the catamaran ferry (1 h) to the island of Korcula where our transfer bus drives you a short distance to the village of Pupnat. Here begins the pleasant hike towards Korcula, Marco Polo's birthplace. It was during the 15th century that a modest settlement was transformed into a thriving town thanks to Dubrovnik's need for high-quality stone, something the local population could provide. Here you can enjoy strolling through the narrow alleys and admiring the architecture.
NOTE - If rough weather makes it impossible for a passenger ferry to operate, you will instead travel between Hvar and Korcula with a minibus and on the large car ferries that serve the mainland, which creates a longer travel day.

If you wish, you can extend the hike and climb the Montokuc peak at 253 meters above sea level, from where you get a fantastic view over Croatia's islands.
NOTE - If rough weather makes it impossible for a passenger ferry to operate, you will instead travel between Korcula and Mljet with a minibus and on the large car ferries that serve the mainland, which creates a longer travel day.

Breakfast
The day begins with transfer to the harbor in Gruz or Dubrovnik. The island of Lopud is now a charming and relatively quiet place with good beaches and without cars or traffic, home to a permanent population of under 300 people. Previously, however, Lopud was a very important port, with great strategic significance - in the 17th century it is said to have had a population of 14,000 people, mostly involved in shipping. You will have time to walk around the island and enjoy its beaches before returning to Dubrovnik in the afternoon.
NOTE - If rough weather makes it impossible for a passenger ferry to operate, there is no possibility to reach the islands for today's hike. In that case, no refund of ferry tickets will be made.
