Day 1: Arrival in Le Lavandou

You make your way to Le Lavandou on the French Riviera on your own. From Nice and Marseille there are trains and buses. It is Le Lavandou that will be your home and starting point for the coming days of hiking. Recharge for tomorrow's hike at a cozy restaurant down by the harbor - if you like fish and seafood, it's something you should try here.

Day 2: Hiking on Porquerolles - 12 km, +150 m/-150 m

Today you take the ferry to the car-free island of Porquerolles, which is the largest of the three golden islands. On the island there are vineyards and old military forts, the hiking trails go through beautiful pine forests. A short uphill climb leads you up to a viewpoint where the entire island lies at your feet and the Mediterranean looks infinite on the horizon. A winding path through untouched vegetation leads you down to the water and then on to the harbor where you take the ferry back to Le Lavandou.

Day 3: Hiking on Port Cors - 5.5 or 9 km, +250 m/-250 m

Today you take the ferry from Le Lavandou to the small island of Port Cros, which is located eight kilometers from the coast. The island is France's smallest national park and its dense forests with tree heather and cork oaks form a real hiking paradise. The water around the island is almost Caribbean and a popular spot among divers. Take the opportunity to swim before you take the ferry back to Le Lavandou in the afternoon.

Day 4: From Pellegrin - Cabasson - Fort de Brégançon - To Le Lavandou - 10 km

Today you follow a so-called Sentier Littoral, a hiking trail that runs along the coastline, passing untouched beaches, hidden caves, on paths surrounded by lavender and occasional pine trees. The protected coastline is unspoiled and offers incredible landscapes with a wild coast and turquoise water. Halfway through the hike you come to Estagnol beach, which is perfect for a lunch break. Here there is a restaurant right by the sea where grilled fish and seafood are served.
