Day 1: Arrival in Aosta

Arrival in Aosta, where pilgrims could worship the relics of Saint'Orso and Saint Gratos. You get here yourself and spend the first night here.

Day 2: From Aosta - To Nus - 16 km +550m/-600m

The route winds among castles and vineyards. You will discover a fine Quart castle, with its chapel dedicated to the local saint Emerico. Along the way you will be able to see the hemispherical engravings made in the rock by prehistoric men, Coppelle, you can try to imagine what they were used for, they are still surrounded by mystery.

Day 3: From Nus - To Saint Vincent - 17 km +300m/-400m

You will walk a long way along Rus, ancient artificial channels that still provide water to the crops on the mountainsides in Valle d'Aosta. During your hike among vineyards we recommend a stop at Crotta de Vegneron at Chambave, which is a shrine to the wines from Valle d'Aosta.

Day 4: From Saint Vincent - To Verrès - 16.5 km +570m/-740m

From Saint Vincent you continue along the side of the village, along the way you pass the very fine castle Saint Germain: you can admire its Mezzogiorno tower under impressive medieval walls, once a formidable defensive tower belonging to the De Mongioveto family who then dominated the valley. From here you will walk along part of the ancient strada delle Gallie, before continuing on to Verrès. If you like castles we recommend a visit to Issogne.

Day 5: From Verrès - To Point Saint Martin - 13 km +180m/-150m

Today awaits a short time travel: at Arnad you will discover the medieval part, pilgrims passing through the hub of the parish church San Martino, before crossing the ancient Enchallod bridge.
You can amuse yourself by looking for traces of Roman carts in stones from the old road of Gaul, which will surprise you with a, still perfectly, preserved section leading to Donnas.
If you want more history visit Bard fort with its Museum of the Alps.

Day 6: From Point Saint Martin - To Ivrea - 21 km +290m/-385m

The alpine landscape gives way to the hills of Piemonte, among characteristic villages surrounded by nature. Today's destination is Ivrea, in the old town center you will find the fine castle and the high tower Santo Stefano. Don't miss visiting the outdoor museum of modern architecture.
For gourmets we recommend a break to taste the Novecento cake, a chocolate cake whose recipe is protected.
