Hiking the Eastern Lycian Way

Day 1: Arrival in Antalya

Fly to Antalya and transfer to your hotel in the city's old quarter. Evening free to explore the bazaars and harbor and choose a cozy restaurant with the exciting Turkish cuisine.

Day 2: Hiking from Gedelme to Ovacik

9 km, 550 m up, 250 m down

The day begins with a short transfer up into the mountains. The hike starts at 920 meters altitude in Olympos National Park. Through pine forests and small mountain villages you reach the Ovacik plateau, with views towards both the Mediterranean Sea and the Taurus Mountains.

Day 3: Hiking from Yaylakuzdere to Beycik

14 km, 900 m up, 950 m down

Today awaits the trip's highest point. You hike up to Tahtalı Pass (1,800 m above sea level) with expansive views over mountains and sea. The scent of cedar hangs in the air. In the evening you stay in Beycik, a small mountain village in the shadow of Mount Olympos.

Day 4: Hiking from Beycik to Çıralı

14 km, 350 m up, 700 m down

From the mountains the trail descends towards the coast. You pass the secluded Maden Bay, perfect for a secluded swim, and continue along trails with sea views to Çıralı – a quiet beach village with guesthouses among citrus groves.

Day 5: Hiking to Chimaera's eternal flames

8 km, 200 m up, 450 m down

A shorter day here in the middle of the week. You hike along the Ulupinar River and up to the famous eternal flames at Chimaera, where natural gas flames directly from the mountain. The sight is almost biblical. Return to Çıralı.

Day 6: Hiking from Çıralı via Olympos to Adrasan

16 km, 750 m up/down

First you visit the ancient coastal city of Olympos, known as one of antiquity's greatest pirate strongholds. Then the trail leads through forests of strawberry trees up to Musa Dağı ("Moses Mountain") and down towards Adrasan Bay.

Day 7: Hiking with Gelidonya lighthouse & Kekova coast

17 km, 700 m up, 750 m down

Breakfast, lunchbox, dinner

One of the trip's most beautiful hikes. You walk along the coast to Gelidonya Lighthouse's viewpoint over the islands in the sea. This is the gateway to the Kekova region's protected bays and islands. Finally you return to the accommodation in Adrasan for a last night.

Day 8: Farewell to the hiking journey along the Lycian Way
