Hiking on the island of Elba - Tuscany's pearl

Take the train to Piombino and the ferry over to Portoferraio. At the harbor, a car will meet you and take you to the hotel in Marciana Marina.

On the slopes of Monte Capanne lies Marciana, which displays a labyrinth of narrow streets and small hidden squares, all filled with colorful flowers. A chestnut avenue takes you from Marciana to the island's most important chapel - Madonna del Monte Santuario. From here you have a beautiful hike along alpine terrain on Monte Capanne with beautiful views. On a clear day you can see Corsica in the distance. You take the bus back to Marciana Marina. You can also choose an easier 10 km hike along the northern side of Monte Capanne.

A morning transfer takes you to San Piero in Campo where you start a panoramic hike with spectacular views over the coast. As you hike through the Mediterranean vegetation, you encounter small stone houses along the way - Caprili - where shepherds milked goats and made cheese in ancient times. After the hike you take the bus back to Marina di Campo. You can also choose a shorter hike today.

Accommodation in Marina di Campo 

Today's hike from Marina di Campo takes you up to Monte Poro and Colle di Palombaia where you walk on a trail along the mountain ridge with wonderful panoramic views. The hike is mostly in shade and you have beautiful views towards Monte Capanne and Monte Calamita. Choose between a longer and a shorter variant.

Accommodation in Marina di Campo 

The trip's final hike is 15 kilometers and goes along Monte Fonza's mountain ridge from where you can admire the view over the entire Marina di Campo bay and over to the other side of the mountain to Lacona bay. A wonderful hiking day!

The trip ends after breakfast with transfer to Portoferraio between 08:00-13:00. There is the possibility to book extra nights on Elba, in Pisa or in Florence.
