Welcome to Salema, one of the Algarve's most authentic fishing villages. After check-in, there's time to stroll along the beach, settle down at an outdoor café, or simply enjoy the ocean view. You'll stay here for all six nights and can comfortably unpack your bag, making the trip extra convenient and relaxing.

The trip's first hike follows the spectacular Barlavento coast where the Atlantic's marine blue waters meet golden limestone cliffs. You'll pass hidden coves and the rural inland around Figueira before the trail reaches the sea again at Zavial and Ingrina beaches. A refreshing swim is recommended before transfer back to Salema.

After transfer to Carrapateira, one of Portugal's most pristine coastal stretches awaits. You'll hike through the Costa Vicentina nature park where fragrant cistus roses, pine trees, and rosemary line the trail. Soon views open up over dramatic cliffs and vast sandy beaches. After the hike, there's time to discover the relaxed surf and fishing village of Carrapateira before returning to Salema.

Today's stage begins in Burgau and follows the coast eastward toward Lagos. Along the way, you'll pass Luz and eventually reach Ponta da Piedade, one of the Algarve's most photographed natural areas with caves, rock arches, and an inviting turquoise sea. The hike ends in historic Lagos where cobblestone streets and small squares invite exploration.

Breakfast
Today you leave the coast for the Algarve's green interior. After transfer to Monchique, a hike through cork oak forests and eucalyptus groves up to Mount Picota awaits. From the summit, you're rewarded with magnificent views over the entire western Algarve. After the hike, there's time to discover the charming mountain village before transfer back to the coast.

From Vila do Bispo, you follow old fishermen's paths over heathland and along some of Europe's highest sea cliffs. The destination is Cabo de São Vicente and Sagres, the place where Henry the Navigator is said to have planned his great voyages of discovery. Here sky, sea, and cliffs meet in one of Portugal's most dramatic landscapes.
