Day 1: Arrival to Madeira

Welcome at the airport and taxi transfer to Machico, the first town founded on Madeira and the former capital of the island. Today it is a small and peaceful seaside resort. Depending on your arrival time, you are welcome to stroll around the village and walk along the waterfront promenade.

Day 2: Boca do Risco balconies

Breakfast

Transfer to the starting point for the hike from Machico – one of Madeira's most beautiful trails – which runs along a path 300 meters above the sea. After passing the terraced cultivations of the Ribeira Seca valley, you follow the spectacular coastal path at Boca do Risco. Here you get an extensive view over the ocean swells and the steep cliffs below. The hike ends with a long descent down towards the sea and the charming fishing village of Porto da Cruz. Check-in for 3 nights at your accommodation.

Day 3: Pico Ruivo

6 km, +300m/ -300m

Breakfast

Transfer to Achada do Teixeira. From here you hike up to Pico Ruivo, Madeira's highest peak at 1,862 meters above sea level. From the summit you are treated to magnificent panoramic views over the entire island. After the hike, transfer to the accommodation takes place.

Day 4: Hiking around Caldeiro Verde

14km, +90m/ -600m

Breakfast

A short transfer takes you to the starting point for today's hike, one of Madeira's most spectacular levadas. Here you step into the famous Laurel forest – a humid, subtropical laurel forest that is one of the island's unique natural heritage sites. The trail takes you through several tunnels and along safe cliff paths before you reach the well-known "Green Cauldron", or Caldeirão Verde. Then you follow the path back and continue down towards the remote village of Ilha, with fantastic viewpoints over the sea along the way.

Day 5: Sao Lourenço peninsula

The São Lourenço peninsula is located at the easternmost point of Madeira. The landscape here differs clearly from the rest of the island, with its semi-arid climate and dramatic basalt cliffs shaped by wind and ocean waves. As a nature reserve, the peninsula offers a unique opportunity to experience Madeira's distinctive flora and fauna.

After the hike, transfer awaits to Funchal, Madeira's capital – a lively and charming city.

Day 6: Levada Rabaçal & 25 fontes

11 km, +400m/ -400m

Breakfast

Transfer to the Paul da Serra plateau to begin an enchanting hike through a fairytale forest, listed on UNESCO's World Heritage List. Here you can enjoy the magnificent landscape with babbling streams and waterfalls, and discover the unique flora that has made Madeira so famous. Continue with transfer to the charming village of Jardim do Mar, where you stay for 2 nights.

Day 7: Fajã de Ovelha

12 km, +650m/ -650m

Breakfast

In the morning, transfer to Prazeres takes place. From here you follow the beautiful Levada Nova towards the small village of Fajã da Ovelha. Then a spectacular descent awaits to Paul do Mar, where you can admire how the Madeirans once built their famous terraced cultivations on the steep slopes. Transfer back to your accommodation.

Day 8: Departure
