Arrival to the picturesque town of Aosta, in a valley dominated by the fantastic view of Europe's highest mountains. After checking in at your first accommodation, you can take a walk and admire some of the still well-preserved remains from Roman times.

You begin with a short transfer to the village of Les Croux. Then you start a hike up to 2000 meters altitude. You hike along flower meadows with the valley and high mountains around you. The hike ends at your next accommodation, located by a small chapel in Homene Dessus above Saint Pierre.

Today's tour goes through Bois de Verrogne and after a sometimes tough ascent you reach the beautiful alpine lake Lac Faller at 2415 meters altitude. On the way you have beautiful views of several of the high mountain peaks in the distance. If you're lucky you might also spot the alpine marmot. The hike back behind Becca France is pleasant and goes via a forested slope. This day it's important to check the weather before setting off.

You walk from east to west along Valle d'Aosta's 2000 meter high slopes. Higher up lie the meadows where the famous cheeses Fontina and Toma are made. At the slightly lower altitudes lie the mountain villages and farms. Your accommodation is located in a charming mountain village surrounded by wonderful views.

From the village of Vens you enter an area with old gold mines. You then ascend to the summit Oilletta at 2616 meters altitude. After a tough final stretch you are rewarded with breathtaking views towards many of the highest peaks including Gran Paradiso and the impressive Mont Blanc massif which feels very close.

Today's hike starts in a real mountain environment. The gradually sloping hike along the river Dora Baltea goes on good trails and the vegetation changes gradually with more and more fruit trees and small vineyards. Along the way you encounter several castles and churches from different eras. From the end of the hike in Villeneuve you travel by train and bus (or rental car) to Cogne.

Make your way to the mountain village of Lillaz, known for its beautiful waterfall, where today's hike begins upward towards the beautiful lake Loie. Hike along flowing water and two more smaller lakes before reaching the bottom of the Urtier valley. From here you take the bus back to Cogne.

From the hotel you walk along a beautiful trail to Colle Tsa Sètse at 2820 meters altitude. Here you might see the alpine marmot or the national park's symbol animal, the ibex. From Colle Tsa Sètse you have fantastic views towards Gran Paradiso, Mont Blanc and the Aosta Valley.
