The trip starts in Bucharest where you board a train that takes you to Brasov. This is followed by a private transfer to your first accommodation in Magura, where you are welcomed with dinner. We offer customized transfer options upon request and can also provide train tickets from the airport if you let us know your flight details.

You hike to the authentic mountain hut Curmatura, with stunning views over the mountain ridge and the valley surrounding the hut. For lunch, you can enjoy the host's own recipes, including a local soup and a delicious pie. On the way back, you will cross the enchanting Zarnesti Gorges with 200-meter-high vertical walls.

Today's hike continues along a small ridge leading to Bran Castle. This castle was built in the 14th century as a defensive structure against migrating peoples. Later, it protected Transylvania from Ottoman invasions. The castle has also been associated with the fictional character Dracula, who was based on the brutal Vlad Tepes, Prince of Wallachia. The day ends with a transfer back to your accommodation.

Today you hike in Piatra Craiului National Park, where you will pass meadows, sheep pens, forests, and scattered settlements. You walk through traditional villages where time seems to have stood still, and the day ends in a beautiful and traditional mountain village. Option to shorten the hike to 14 km, +600 m/-600 m.

In the morning, the route leaves the Piatra Craiului mountains and takes you on a relaxing walk through postcard-pretty landscapes and charming villages hiding small old houses at the foot of the Bucegi Mountains. The locals are livestock farmers, so the village has a long tradition of cheese-making. Option to extend the hike if desired.

A long and wonderful hike you won't soon forget: impressive landscapes and sights at the striking Strunga Cliff, the two mountain passes Strunga and Strungulita, and a mountain hut at the former Transylvanian-Wallachian border.

The hike continues in the Bucegi Mountains, up to the Gutanu Glade with excellent views of the dramatic cliffs above. During summer, you might encounter shepherds with their flocks and can even ask to taste the cheese they make themselves. Take your time and enjoy these outstanding landscapes. Option to shorten the hike to about 9 km or 15 km.
