Hiking in the Northern Cotswolds

The first day's hike takes you via beautiful small typical Cotswold villages to Stow-on-the-Wold which is an important market town in the region. After a break you continue towards Bourton-on-the-Water which is probably England's most beautiful village.

When you leave Bourton via the river Windrush you quickly get out into the countryside. Naunton is the first of several pleasant villages you pass on the way. You walk in a varied landscape with open views, peaceful forests and secluded valleys before you reach Sudeley Castle and look down on Winchcombe.

From Winchcombe you walk north along the long-distance trail "The Cotswold Way" towards Broadway. On the way you can visit Stanway House and Hailes Abbey. A lunch at The Mount Inn in Stanton can also be recommended. Once in Broadway you have time to stroll around in this charming honey-colored village with several Tea Rooms.

Start the day's hike with a gentle uphill climb towards Broadway Tower which is located on the second highest point in the Cotswolds. From here you have a magnificent view over the landscape. From Broadway Tower you have a peaceful walk down to beautiful Chipping Campden with its Tea Rooms and shops.

A final beautiful hike from Chipping Campden through a green rolling landscape and you are back in Moreton-in-Marsh where your English hiking adventure began.
