Breakfast
On days 2 and 3 you can freely choose between four different hiking suggestions. Today we suggest:
Hike around Catinaccio (Rosengarten)
Circular hike along the impressive Catinaccio massif, also called Rosengarten in German, which relates to the rose-shimmering color the mountain walls take on at sunrise and sunset. You pass Malga Vael, Roda di Vael and climb towards Zigoladepass before hiking down under jagged peaks like Forcella di Davoi and Cima Catinaccio.
14 km, 780 m up/down.
Hike around Sasso Piatto (Langkofel)
A long and very beautiful panoramic hike from Col Rodella that also takes you into the neighboring valley Val Gardena. You pass Rifugio Sasso Piatto and Langkofelhütte and move through the barren landscape between Sasso Piatto and Sassolungo – almost like on the moon. Steep descent towards the end (lift can be taken as an alternative).
16 km, 810 m up, 850 m down
16 km // 10 km, 350 m up, 1230 m down // 260 m up, 960 m down
Breakfast
Today you can either do one of the hikes from yesterday, or choose between two more:
Hike Via del Pan (Marmolada)
The classic "bread path" along the mountain ridge with magnificent views towards the Marmolada glacier and the Sella group. A high-class panoramic tour and one of the area's true classics.
16 km, 350 m up, 1230 m down
Hike in Val de Grepa
A calmer valley hike through one of Val di Fassa's lesser-known side valleys. From Ciampac you climb towards Pian de Sele and continue over open plateaus with views towards Sassolungo. Down through green pastures with cows and horses.
10 km, 260 m up, 960 m down
13 km, 440 m up, 745 m down
Breakfast
From Col Rodella you hike over gravel roads and trails with Sassolungo (Langkfofel) and Sasso Piatto (Plattkofel) on the left side. You pass Sellapass and continue with the Sella massif getting ever closer in front of you. The views are magnificent all the way to Passo Gardena (Grödner Joch). From here you take the bus down to Corvara in Val Badia, where you stay for the remainder of the trip.
11 km, 610 m up/down
Breakfast
Today it's time for a high alpine circular tour from Corvara up over blooming alpine meadows and through larch forest to the Pralongià plateau. Continue towards Piz Bioch, a perfect place for a break with extensive Dolomite views, before returning down to Corvara.
12.5 km // 10 km, 755 m up, 1020 m down // 510 m up, 880 m down
Breakfast
Today you get a proper and dramatic alpine hike in thrilling raw high alpine environment. You choose your starting point:
Hike from Passo Gardena
With lift from Corvara to Passo Gardena you hike up towards the Sella massif from the north and continue through Val de Mesdì. The trail goes periodically steeply down into the valley before you continue towards Crep de Sela and further to Ristorante Boè near the summit. The final part goes through spectacular rock formations to Passo Campolongo.
12.5 km, 755 m up, 1020 m down
From Passo Pordoi
Alternatively you take the local bus to Passo Pordoi and tackle the Sella massif from the south. You hike in high mountain terrain under mighty peaks, through open alpine meadows and with wide views over Sella and its crown of surrounding valleys.
10 km, 510 m up, 880 m down
Breakfast
The trip ends after breakfast, unless you choose to treat yourself to some extra nights in this brilliant hiking paradise. The trail network in the Dolomites is unbeatable and there are many hikes in Val Badia, Val Gardena and around Cortina d'Ampezzo you can reach.
