A short taxi transfer from Bad Goisern takes you to the hiking paradise Predigstuhl. You walk past rustic huts, alpine pastures and impressive peaks in the heart of Ausseerland. You have fantastic views over the UNESCO World Heritage region of Hallstatt-Dachstein. You then continue to the wonderful village of Altaussee where you stay overnight. Many artists spend their summer here and enjoy the charming landscape with its limestone cliffs, vast forests and flower fields.

Day 3: From Altaussee - To Grundslee - 17 km, +400 m/- 450 m

You begin your day's hike by walking along Lake Altaussee, with views of the impressive Loser mountain. You then reach the next lake of the day by crossing the Tressen saddle – with endless mountainous panoramic views along the way. You then reach Gößl at Lake Grundlsee, also this trail with fantastic views.
Don't miss visiting the mysterious Lake Toplitzsee, where treasure is believed to be hidden. Here you can take a trip with a traditional wooden boat.

Day 4: From Grundslee - To Tauplitzalm - 13 km, +990 m/ -150 m

The route takes you along a fast-flowing mountain stream and through extensive alluvial areas out from the valley to Ödernalm, which is the nicest place on the planet according to Heinrich Harrer. After a final ascent over Törl you reach the charming, almost magical lake. Shortly after you arrive at Tauplitzalm, which is located on a high plateau.

Day 5: Circular hike from Tauplitzalm - 2-4 hours depending on route

Tauplitzalm is one of Europe's most beautiful high plateaus and here there are many opportunities for hiking. The 6 lakes hike takes you on a route with wonderful mountain lakes and fantastic views.
A hike to one of the many peaks in the Tote Gebirge mountain range is a very special experience. The area is well known for its flora and fauna, everything from snow roses to alpine rose flowers. Perhaps
you'll be lucky enough to see some mountain goats that are native to the steep mountain slopes.

Day 6: From Tauplitzalm - To Bad Goisern - 13 km, +100 m/- 900m

Over Hochalm you hike past Lake Steirersee to Lake Schwarzensee, which lies hidden among high mountains. You continue down through the forest, and through blooming narcissus fields you walk to Tauplitz.
You then hop on the train back to Bad Goisern.
