Day 1: Arrival in Maccinaggio

You arrive in Bastia and then make your way to Maccinaggio by taxi or bus (not included). Once there, you settle into the hotel. Maccinaggio is a charming harbor north of Bastia, with its Genoese watchtower. Take it easy by the hotel pool or take the historic path to discover the village, before heading out for dinner at one of the lovely restaurants in this sleepy coastal town.

Day 2: From Maccinaggio - To Barcaggio - 13 km, +315 m/-315 m

You follow the customs officer's path "chemin des douaniers" around the remote Cap Corse, passing naturally preserved beaches and abandoned watchtowers that bear witness to the battles fought for this island. The hike takes you through a captivating wild and natural landscape. You take the boat back from Barcaggio to Maccinaggio for a nice end to the day.

Day 3: From Barcaggio - To Centuri - 12 km, +585 m/-585 m

The path is more challenging from here as you walk around the coastal cliffs from Barcaggio. The west coast of Cap Corse has high grey cliffs that plunge into the sea, from here you can see islets that offer nature reserves for rare wildlife. At the end of the day you arrive at our relaxed harbor hotel in Centuri. The town is the capital of lobster fishing, so we recommend this for dinner tonight.

Day 4: From Centuri - To Seneque - 13 km, +900 m/-500 m

Today's hike takes you along some of Cap Corse's more remote trails. You climb from village to village, past chapels, churches and monasteries, all the way to the ridge at Notre Dame des Graces. Along the ridge you can enjoy a fantastic view over Cap Corse before reaching Seneque which is your stop for the day. Dinner as well as picnic for tomorrow is included.

Day 5: From Seneque - To Canari - 14 km +850 m/-950 m

From Seneque the hike continues along the ridge, high above the villages nestled along the coast. The view is simply fantastic, and it's easy to see why people call this the island within the island. Past menhirs and abandoned villages that are evidence of the people of this land, you descend to the village of Canari. Dinner is included at a local restaurant.

Day 6: From Canari - To Nonza - 13 km, +650 m/-780 m

From Canari you continue southward through a dramatic and contrasting landscape before crossing a Genoese bridge and finally reaching the village of Ogliastro. From here the landscape changes as you drop down to the coast and the village of Nonza, with its dark pebble beach and Pisan tower. The village is the perfect postcard. A transfer then takes you to St Florent where you spend the night.

Day 7: Departure from St Florent
