Hiking around Bordeaux with the Flower Route

Arrival on your own to Bordeaux airport or train station. Taxi transfer (included) to your first accommodation in Pauillac.

Accommodation in Pauillac 

Today's hike takes you around an outstanding wine landscape with three of the five 1st Grand Cru Classés wines together with an additional 15 Grand Cru Classé Medoc. Along small roads you explore the biggest stars from the 1855 wine ranking with all their splendor and architecture. You pass among others Lafite Rothschild, Latour and Mouton Rothschild but also Châteaux Pichon Longueville, Pontet Canet and Lynch Bages. The hike takes you back to the hotel in Pauillac.

Start your hiking day by exploring Vertheuil, one of the most beautiful villages in Medoc, well known among other things for its monastery church. In this landscape you also get the opportunity to discover Medoc's history when you pass the archaeological site Brion in St Germain d'Esteuil. The pleasant hike continues through meadowland, vineyards and forest before you return to Vertheuil. From there a transfer will take you to your accommodation in Margaux.

Accommodation in Margaux

A short distance from your hotel you can stop in front of the impressive Chateau Margaux and admire this classic building from the beginning of the 1800s. The hike goes mostly along vineyards belonging to this prestigious wine castle. You also come down to the Gironde with fine views over the river estuary before you return to the hotel through meadow and woodland.

Accommodation in Margaux 

Today's hike takes you to Lamarque where you take the boat across to the other side of the Gironde (boat ticket included). You reach the magnificent citadel Blaye which majestically and impressively with its 33 hectares overlooks the river estuary from the city's heart. From here you have wonderful views over the Gironde. Continue through vineyards to your next accommodation.

Accommodation in Blaye 

The trip's final hike takes you along paths and small roads through the vineyards Cotes de Blaye AOC, Bordeaux and Bordeaux Supérieur. Follow the famous "Corniche Fleurie" towards Gauriac or Bourg-sur-Gironde. Here you walk along palm trees and bay trees that remind you of the mild climate. Finish at a charming B&B where dinner is included.

Accommodation in Gauriac/Bourg 

The trip ends after breakfast with transfer (included) to the airport/train station in Bordeaux.
