39 km / 25 km

Breakfast

A fantastic first day trip takes you from the lively suburbs of Ryde and Cowes, to the seaside resort of Gurnard and then through the pastoral elegance inland, winding through Newtown before rolling into Yarmouth, a beautiful, historic coastal town. Today's main attraction is Queen Victoria's "Osborne House". You also have the opportunity to visit Quarr Abbey, St. Mildred's Church Whippingham and Cowes. Newtown was the original capital of the island which was attacked by the French in 1377 and never recovered. The old town hall dates back to the 1690s and is now in the care of the National Trust.

Day 3: From Yarmouth - To Chale - 38/24 km

38 km / 24 km

A beautiful cycling day with some climbs lies ahead of you today. Opportunity to get up to New Battery in The Needles Park either by bike, or if you want to avoid the uphill climb you can choose to walk or take the bus from Alum Bay car park. The second half of today is somewhat easier and you cruise along country roads, narrow winding lanes and through beautiful villages. You finally return to the coast and eventually reach the village of Chale.
