Day 1: Arrival in Fort William

Arrival in Fort William and check-in at your hotel. Fort William is Britain's main hub for various outdoor activities and is located at the foot of the highest mountain, Ben Nevis.

Day 2: From Fort William - To Invergarry - 42 km, +280m / -230m

Breakfast

The first day's cycling is mostly easy where you follow a traffic-free path along the Caledonian Canal. Follow Neptune's Staircase, the longest series of locks in Britain. In the small village of Gairlochy, the path changes to singletrack up through woodland to Laggan before you cycle alongside the main road to today's destination, Invergarry.

Day 3: From Invergarry - To Drumnadrochit - 48 km, +680m / -730m

Breakfast

You start the day with an uphill climb behind Invergarry. Once at the top, you have a lovely singletrack section through forest down to Aberchalder. From here you're back along the canal which you follow to Fort Augustus. The final part of today's cycling offers more challenging forest trails again as you approach Loch Ness. Today's destination is Drumnadrochit.

Day 4: From Drumnadrochit - To Inverness - 39 km, +450m / -480m

Breakfast

Today you change cycling environment as you leave the lakes and cross more isolated areas along smaller roads in a more open landscape with hills and fields surrounding Great Glen. Here you get a wonderful sense of freedom. You pass the charming Loch Laide before heading down towards the capital of the Highlands, Inverness.
