28.5 km/ 57 km, +200 m/-340 m

Breakfast

The Segura river and ancient irrigation canals lead you from the pleasant town of Cieza to the charming village of Archena. A contrasting landscape awaits you with deep valleys and dry slopes above a green river where you also find oasis-like palm groves. The whitewashed villages such as Abarán, Blanca, Ójos and Ulea were Murcia's last Moorish stronghold in the 15th century. From Archena you follow quiet country roads and parts of Via Verde back to Murcia. You can choose different routes depending on whether you want a shorter or longer daily stage.
