Day 1: Arrival in Bolzano

You make your own way to Bolzano, where the cycling trip begins. Bolzano, or Bozen as the city is called in German, is the capital of South Tyrol. The city is bilingual and has always been a crossroads between the Mediterranean and Central Europe. Bolzano lies along the river Isarco (Eisack in German) and today the city is a center for both trade and tourism. Here you will also find a lot of culture and history.

Day 2: From Bolzano - To Trento - 65/70 km

Today you start cycling, by cycling along the river Adige, past fruit orchards and vineyards that lie on the famous "wine route" – "Strada del vino". Halfway between Bolzano and Trento you reach Salorno, which is considered the linguistic border between the German-speaking and Italian-speaking world. If you feel that today's distance is too long, you can choose to take the train from one of the many train stations along the way.

Day 3: From Trento - To Desenzano/Peschiera - 50 km

By following the river Adige you reach Rovereto, a city known for its art museum with modern and contemporary art. Then it goes uphill for a while, until you reach Passo di San Giovanni, and can enjoy a fantastic view over Lake Garda and the small town of Torbole. You finally reach Riva del Garda and from there you take a ferry to the southern part of Lake Garda.

Day 4: From Desenzano/Peschiera - To Verona - 60/35 km

After crossing the rolling hills around Lake Garda you will see the river Adige again. You continue along the river until you reach Verona – one of the most beautiful cities in the Veneto region, and home to Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Attractions worth exploring include the great amphitheater Arena di Verona, the church San Zeno (Basilica di San Zeno Maggiore) and Juliet's house with the famous balcony.

Day 5: From Verona - To Vicenza - 75/40 km

Today you cycle in the countryside, along the foot of Mount Lessini. You pass vineyards and beautiful landscape, until you reach Soave castle. Further ahead another castle appears: "The Bishops' Rock" - "Rocca dei vescovi". Head for it and you will reach the Berici hills and the city of Vicenza. The city's old town center is characterized by beautiful private residences as well as public buildings by the famous 16th-century architect Andrea Palladio. Even today you can choose to shorten your tour by taking the train in San Bonifacio.

Day 6: From Vicenza - To Padua thermal baths - 50 km

Today you cycle out of Vicenza, on the cycle path that runs along the river Bacchiglione. Don't forget to admire Andrea Palladio's masterpiece Villa la Rotonda. Then, after passing the small village of Montegalda, you will head towards the Euganean hills, where you get the chance to relax at a four-star spa, located in Europe's largest thermal bath area.

Day 7: From Padua thermal baths - To Mestre/Venice - 55 km

Today you cycle on the cycle path that runs along the Canale Battaglia canal, and along the way you pass through Padua. The city is rich in art and history and here lies one of Italy's oldest universities. From here you cycle along the Canale Piovego canal, past Stra and then follow another canal, Canale Brenta, which lies below grand villas that belonged to the old Venetian nobility. Then you reach Mestre, a suburb of Venice, where you spend the night. For a fee you can instead stay overnight in Venice. Note! In Venice it is forbidden both to cycle and to walk with your bike, (except at Piazzale Roma and the train station.)
