8 days / 7 nights

7 Breakfasts included

Day 1: Arrival in Porto

You arrive in Porto, one of Europe's most atmospheric cities and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Here you have plenty of time to settle in after your journey and begin exploring the city at a leisurely pace. Take a stroll along the Douro River, wander through the historic neighborhoods of Ribeira and Vila Nova de Gaia, and soak in the atmosphere. Don't miss trying a glass of port wine – after all, you're in its hometown.

Day 2: Cycle from Porto to Furadouro

40-45 km

Breakfast

After breakfast, the cycling journey begins in earnest. You cross the Douro River and cycle past the classic port wine cellars before leaving the city's pulse behind. Soon quieter roads take over and the landscape opens up toward the Atlantic coast. The route goes along long sandy beaches, through vast pine forests and small coastal communities. Today's destination is Furadouro and surroundings, a place known for its hospitality and excellent fish and seafood restaurants.

Day 3: Cycle from Furadouro to Aveiro

40 km

Breakfast

Today's stage offers abundant nature experiences. You cycle through the Aveiro Lagoon, a unique wetland area where water, sky and land merge together. Here you have the opportunity to see rich birdlife and follow the traditional salt extraction at the salt pans. At São Jacinto sand dunes nature reserve, nature feels particularly close. The stage ends with a ferry crossing with your bike to Aveiro, often called Portugal's Venice thanks to its canals and colorful moliceiro boats.

Day 4: Cycle from Aveiro to Praia de Mira

35 km

Breakfast

You leave Aveiro via a beautiful cycle path that follows the lagoon southward. Soon you reach Costa Nova, whose characteristic striped beach houses are one of Portugal's most photographed subjects. The journey continues at a leisurely pace along the coast toward Praia de Mira. Here awaits a long, wide sandy beach and a relaxed small-town feel – perfect for an evening stroll or a dip in the Atlantic for those inclined to swim.

Day 5: Cycle from Praia de Mira to Figueira da Foz

50 km

Breakfast

Today's cycling goes through a gently rolling landscape of sand dunes and pine forests. The terrain varies slightly and the road offers a pleasant rhythm. Soon the first cliffs appear, and at Cabo Mondego dramatic views over the Atlantic open up. Then you roll on toward Figueira da Foz, a charming coastal town with lively squares, decorative alleys, cafés that slow your pulse and a beautiful waterfront promenade.

Day 6: Cycle from Sintra to Cascais

35 km

Breakfast

In the morning, transfer from Figueira da Foz to Sintra is included, Portugal's royal summer residence surrounded by forest, hills and fairytale palaces. From here the cycling continues with a long and lovely downhill stretch back toward the coast. Along the way you're treated to vast ocean views, small sandy coves and dramatic coastal landscapes. Some shorter climbs occur, but the reward is great. The day ends in Cascais, an elegant coastal town with a lively waterfront promenade and relaxed atmosphere.

Day 7: Cycle from Cascais to Lisbon

40 km

Breakfast

The last cycling day follows the coastline all the way toward Lisbon. The cycle path goes along the sea via Estoril and on to the mouth of the Tejo River. The Belém Tower appears directly along the route and marks the entrance to the city's historic areas. You cycle on under Lisbon's iconic suspension bridge that resembles the Golden Gate in San Francisco - no coincidence as the same American company was involved in the construction, and the bridge was later painted in the characteristic red-orange color. Finally, you follow the river's shore into the Oriente district, where the journey ends.

Day 8: Farewell to the cycling trip in Portugal

Breakfast

After breakfast, the cycling journey concludes. For those who wish, there's an opportunity to extend your stay in Lisbon and further explore the city's neighborhoods, viewpoints and restaurants.
