Day 1: Arrival in Collioure

Arrival in Collioure, a beautiful little coastal town with several fine beaches that once attracted artists like Matisse and Picasso. If you have time, you can already today take a 9 km hike with beautiful views over Côte Vermeille.

Day 2: From Collioure - To Banyuls - 12-16 km, +750 m/ -750 m

Collioure-Banyuls, this prestigious region is internationally known for its refined wines. The passage through Madeloc Tower, an old signal tower dating from the 13th century, will remain a magical moment with its fantastic panoramic view. From the top of the 656 m ascent, you will be able to discover the Roussillon plain, Côte Vermeille and the nearby Massif des Albères. Then you descend towards the welcoming Banyuls, where the Mediterranean and the Catalan sky blend at the horizon. Possibility to reach Banyuls via the coastal road, also a fantastic route, which lets you cross Port-Vendres, to discover Cap Béar and its lighthouse facing the sea, but also to discover the beautiful beaches scattered between Port-Vendres and Banyuls sur Mer.

Day 3: From Banyuls - To Cerbère - 10-12 km, +300 m/ -300 m / +750m/ -750m

Between Banyuls and Cerbère, the coastal path lets you discover several streams and isolated beaches as well as beautiful viewpoints over Côte Vermeille. Here there is not much respite as the coast is uneven, with continuous ascents and descents. The route is also characterized by vineyards with vines at the edge of the cliff that leave just enough space for the hiker to pass... It is also possible to go "up" via the Querroig tower, with magnificent views over the bays of Cerbères and Port Bou.

Day 4: From Cerbère - To Port de la Llanca - 15 km, +550 m/ -550 m

Today you cross the border into Spain. The day begins with a transfer to Port Bou, a colorful border town. The Catalan atmosphere is clear and the architecture reminds you that you are in Spain. You hike along the coast and follow los Caminos de Ronda to Port de Llanca.

Day 5: From Port de la Llanca - To Port de la Selva - 9-17 km, +150 m/ -150 m / +600m/ -600m

From Llançà, towards Port de la Selva, the route first follows the coastline to Platja de la Vall. Then you enter the Cap de Creus nature park. Here you will discover the village of La Vall de Santa Creu, before climbing to the monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes, built in the 9th century at a height of 670m. It overlooks the Cap de Creus peninsula. Finally, all that remains is to reach Port de la Selva, a typical fishing village that despite the influx of tourists has managed to retain its authenticity.

Today's hike is about 9km, +150m / -150m. If you choose to undertake the climb up to the monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes, it becomes instead about 17km, +600m / -600m.

Day 6: Port de la Selva - Cadaqués - 21 km, +450 m/ -450 m

During this hike, which culminates in the Catalan village of Cadaqués, you will encounter testimonies from the past, with popular architecture, such as farmhouses, brick ovens etc. One of the highlights during this day will be the arrival at Cap de Creus lighthouse, the mythical start of the famous GR11, which you take to reach the top of the Cap. Then an old path takes you through Port Lligat to the whitewashed houses of Cadaqués.

Day 7: The trip ends

The trip ends after breakfast. You can visit Cadaquès or take a short hike to the Cala Nans lighthouse in the Cap Norfeu nature park. This provides access to interesting views over Cadaqués bay and a magnificent view over the surrounding cliff walls.
